1.    Accessibility Requirements and Applicable Criteria

The digital accessibility requirements are outlined in Legislative Decree of May 27, 2022, No. 82 “Implementation of Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of April 17, 2019, on the accessibility requirements for products and services”, which refers to the UNI EN 301549 standard for technical aspects.

Specifically, the website's compliance must be evaluated against the criteria outlined in chapters 9 “Web” and 10 “Non-web content,” which refer to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level A+AA.

The four fundamental principles of digital accessibility, expressed by WCAG 2.1, are:

  • Perceivable - Content is presented in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Operable - The interface is easily navigable by all users.
  • Understandable - Information and operations are intuitive and easy to interpret.
  • Robust - The site is compatible with the most common assistive technologies.

Referring to the aforementioned UNI EN 301549 standard, which clearly lists the 50 success criteria to verify website accessibility, technical analyses were carried out on the website content including both textual and non-textual information, downloadable documents and forms, and bidirectional interaction forms, such as handling digital forms and completing authentication, identification, and payment processes.

Excluded Application Areas

Article 1, paragraph 5 of Legislative Decree No. 82/2022 states that the provisions of the decree do not apply to the following website content and mobile applications:

  • pre-recorded time-based media published before June 28, 2025;
  • office file formats published before June 28, 2025;
  • online maps and mapping services, where essential information for navigation is provided in an accessible digital format;
  • third-party content that is neither funded nor developed by the relevant economic operator nor under their control;
  • website and mobile application content considered archives, meaning they contain only content that has not been updated or revised after June 28, 2025.

4. Compliance with Accessibility Requirements

To improve accessibility and user experience, FFW S.r.l. has integrated the UserWay PRO accessibility widget into the website covered by this policy. Its use by website users is completely free and helps improve site compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).
UserWay PRO offers multiple functionalities to enhance web accessibility and user experience through a dedicated panel, accessible by clicking the widget icon or using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+U, as listed below.

  • Screen reader: reads aloud all page content without the need for external readers.
  • Dictionary: allows access to dictionary lookups without leaving the website. Essential for people with cognitive disabilities, non-native English speakers, and others.
  • Larger text: increases on-screen text size with four different levels of enlargement, making all parts of the site more readable.
  • Saturation: adjusts site color intensity to high, low, or grayscale.
  • Contrast: inverts site colors or switches between light and dark contrast modes.
  • Smart contrast: ensures that all site colors fully comply with ADA standards, enhancing content visibility.
  • Highlight links: highlights links, buttons, and other interactive and clickable elements with bright, high-contrast colors, making them easier to identify and improving overall usability and accessibility.
  • Stop animations: pauses moving or automatically updating content that may pose accessibility barriers, including flashing animations that may trigger seizures.
  • Text spacing: adjusts letter and line spacing to enhance readability for users with dyslexia or low vision, offering three adjustment levels for a more accessible reading experience.
  • Line height: increases line height for more comfortable text spacing throughout the site.
  • Text alignment: aligns text left, right, or center for a personalized and more accessible reading experience.
  • Dyslexia-friendly font: the "UserWay Dyslexia Friendly" font improves readability and offers a smoother reading experience for users with dyslexia.
  • Large cursor: increases the standard cursor size by 400% so the pointer remains in view. Enables quicker, more accessible navigation through links, tabs, and form elements.
  • Tooltips: displays alternative text and ARIA labels for on-screen elements on mouseover. Tooltips are prominent, high-contrast, and easy to read for users with low vision or accessibility needs.
  • Page structure: quickly reveals page headings, landmarks, and links in a clear, structured, easily navigable, and accessible manner. Helps all users find content faster.

In addition to the functionalities that users can activate from the accessibility menu, the UserWay PRO widget can detect numerous site non-conformities and apply real-time corrections without modifying the source code, but only what is displayed in the browser. This makes the site more usable for all users, including those using assistive technologies.

Web content accessibility for users who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, alternative keyboards, or voice commands is also supported by ARIA attributes, which describe the role, state, and properties of UI elements, communicate dynamic interactions (e.g., expandable menus, modals, sliders) to screen readers, and support keyboard navigation in complex components.

Additional Accessibility Requirements Related to E-Commerce Services

The service ensures accessibility of identification, security, and payment functionalities in an accessible manner, including the use of systems that present these functionalities in a perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust format.

Regarding electronic payments, the site uses the main market leaders, listed below:

Compliance Status

To determine the site's compliance status, the guidelines and evaluation checklist provided by AgID were used.

This website is partially compliant with the requirements set out in Appendix A of the UNI CEI EN 301549 standard. Since it was published before 28/06/2025, the company intends to achieve full compliance during the release of a new future website.

5. Accessibility Monitoring Process

FFW S.r.l., during a future update of the website covered by this policy, will pay particular attention to ensuring that the service meets the requirements of digital accessibility laws, possibly with support from external consultants for the following activities:

  • technical accessibility audit of the website through a gap analysis;
  • user testing of key user flows, including the use of assistive technologies;
  • analysis of third-party technologies, plugins, and services implemented on the site;
  • reporting of gaps and non-conformities identified during the technical review and user testing;
  • validation of corrections to the non-conformities applied;
  • preparation of public accessibility documentation;
  • staff training on best practices for digital accessibility;
  • definition of internal policies and procedures for managing user support requests.

FFW S.r.l. also intends to conduct periodic technical audits to monitor the website’s accessibility over time, possibly with contributions from third-party experts in digital accessibility, to implement improvements based on user feedback.

In this case, the audits will be performed by an external accessibility consultant using up-to-date tools aligned with current legislation to reassess compliance through semi-automated code checks, manual user tests, and assistive technologies.
